It is December 1st and we are now experiencing the first official snow fall for this season. We would like to take this time to remind you of your responsibilities for removing snow and ice for commercial and residential properties as outlined in WCC 7-2-2.
In the business district, it shall be the duty of the owner and tenant to keep all sidewalks and shared use paths in front of or adjoining premises free and clear of all accumulations of ice, snow, and slush. Sidewalks and shared use paths shall be freed from the night's accumulation of ice, snow, and slush.
In the residential districts, it shall be the duty of the owner and tenant to keep all sidewalks and shared use paths in front of and abutting the premises free and clear of all accumulations of ice, snow, and slush for pedestrians. Sidewalks and shared use paths shall, be freed from all accumulation of ice, snow, and slush within twenty four (24) hours.
To assist in roadway snow removal, alternate-side-parking is in effect until April 30th. On even-numbered calendar days, vehicles shall park on the even-numbered side of the road; on odd-numbered calendar days, vehicles shall park on the odd-numbered side of the road. Alternate-side parking shall no apply to streets where alternate-side parking is not available, including but not limited to cul-de-sacs and streets, where no parking is allowed on one or both sides of the street at any time.
