SMS/MMS Terms and Conditions
The City of Whitefish (City) uses SMS/MMS messaging to send communications to citizens that have requested information about event, reminders, and other key City program information The City does not charge for this service, however standard messaging rates may apply.
You must opt-in to each service offered and opt-out when you no longer wish to receive the messages.
Opt-In
To opt-in for SMS/MMS messages for the different City web services you will need to create an account. You may then choose the services that you wish to receive SMS/MMS messaging from. Some Departments within the City may also offer to send you SMS/MMS messages that you have personal requested they send to you. The City does not send SMS/MMS message that you have not requested. You cannot opt-in another individual.
Carries Supported
SMS/MMS messaging service is supported by a vast list of carriers, including (but not limited to):
- AT&T
- Verizon Wireless
- Sprint
- T-Mobile
- Metro PCS
The City and/or Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Opt-Out
You can opt-out of SMS/MMS messages at anytime by going to your account and removing the services you selected or by texting STOP. In cases where you requested a City Employee to directly SMS/MMS message you text Stop to the number that you received the message from. In most cases you will receive one additional message confirming you opt-out and then you will be removed from the SMS/MMS list.

If users have any questions or need help, they can text HELP to the number you received the message from. If there are additional questions about the service or these Terms and Conditions, please contact the City at (406) 863-2400 or contact the City Department for which the message is related to.
Third Party
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes; all the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties
