Parks and Recreation would like to remind property owners that we need your assistance in clearing snow and ice from adjacent sidewalks and paths to ensure safe pedestrian passage in our community this winter. While we assist in removing snow from main sidewalks and the shared use paths, property owners should be aware that City Code Section 7-2-2 assigns the responsibility of snow removal to the adjacent property owner.  It is through this effort that adjacent property owners play a crucial role in assuring that our sidewalks and paths are passable for pedestrians.  When clearing snow from these areas, please ensure it is not placed or stored in a manner that obstructs public rights-of-way by way of berms or placement on city streets.
