Community Services & Volunteerism

Join Connect Whitefish on Wednesday July 30th between 7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m. to celebrate the completion of the viaduct improvement project. Walk, bike, or roll over the viaduct and enjoy a free cup of coffee and donut holes. We will be on the south east side of the viaduct.
Walk N’ Roll is joining forces with the Hit the Trail Challenge!
The 6th Annual Hit the Trail Challenge returns this May in partnership with Walk N’ Roll! This year, in addition to logging miles on the Whitefish Trail during the month of May, the community is challenged with logging trips in Whitefish using human powered transportation instead of driving. For every trip you log walking, biking, or rolling, you will be entered into a weekly raffle. Trips can be logged with an online form, by joining the Hit the Trail Challenge Strava Club, or by paper log sheet.
Log your trips on the Hit the Trail Challenge page HERE Version OptionsCommunity Services & VolunteerismHeadline.
Raffle sponsors of the Walk N’ Roll Challenge include The Wave Aquatic and Fitness Center, Montana Coffee Traders, Montana E-Bikes, Sportsman & Ski Haus, Dream Adaptive Recreation, Glacier Restaurant Group, and Rockfish Climbing and Fitness.
Walk N’ Roll Block Party – Tuesday, June 17th
Connect Whitefish is continuing to celebrate the campaign to walk, bike, or roll to downtown Whitefish with a block party on Central Avenue on Tuesday, June 17th. Bike, walk, or roll down to Central Avenue to learn about bike safety, adaptive recreation, health benefits of human powered transportation, local trails, and bike commuting from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There will be e-bike demos and discounts on food and drink as well!
The community benefits of human powered transportation are many including less traffic congestion, stronger sense of community, safer streets, and healthier habits. All of these are great reasons to ditch the car and Walk N Roll your way to downtown Whitefish!
Sponsors of this event include the City of Whitefish, Logan Health Whitefish, Big Mountain Commercial Association, Dream Adaptive Recreation, Whitefish Legacy Partners, Blackstar Brewery, Flathead Area Mountain Bikers, Third Street Market, Whitefish Outfitters, Black Tie Ski Rental, Montana E-Bikes, Gateway to Glacier Trails, Great Northern Cycle and Ski, Forloh, Thirty Eight Whitefish, FDES Functional Design, Whitefish Disco Skate, Super Bloom Gear Repair, and Glacier Restaurant Group.
